Burgess Shale presentation
I had a great time presenting specimens from the Burgess Shale (Middle-Cambrian) to the Biodiversity Beaty Museum volunteers. We are very lucky in British Columbia to have such unique fossil site located in the Yoho national Park. Indeed, the Burgess Shale formation, is known worldwide for its exceptional preservation of soft body parts. Very fascinating specimens such as Hallucigenia, Marella, Wiwaxia and Opabinia are some of the famous fossils of the Burgess Shale formation. I feel privileged to work with those fossils which allow me to have a glimpse at a 505 millions years old BC landscape! Having some nice lunch break with David Turner is also lovely especially when we get to talk about his new fossil treasures.
