The Fossil lab

David Turner's devotion to the fossils of the Pacific Museum of Earth collection is exemplary. His main work focuses on digital cataloging of the collection. Working with him and learning from him is a great privilege.

On this photo below, the fossil on the lower left is a Lower Silurian tabulate coral and on the left it is a Lower Silurian rugose coral, both from Manitoulin, Ontario.

The Silurian is a fascinating period that saw its seas develop with a diverse coral reef landscape with the first appearance of fish. It is also during the Silurian that the first clear evidence of land plant occurred.
